I think I would leave your hair down and have it falling softly on your shoulders with a hint of a curling under on the ends, courtesy of a curling iron. Then I would make a small wreath of simple flowers and wear them as your crowning touch. You would look beautiful.

Here's one that's half up, pin straight and it's more of a swept back look. The whole top layer of your hair would be swept backwards and secured most likely with a barret. Why don't you do a half up style? You could either frame your face with soft wisps and have the back up with rhinestone pins in a soft bun or have the rhinestones placed randomly in a basketweave pattern half up while the other half falls into beautiful ponytail.

use scrunching gel when your hair is wet. blow dry it while scrunching, and then if your hair is frizzy use a smoothing cream (suave or herbal essences) and then use a curling iron and curl random pieces, making your hair look more messy and less hollywood-like

I think both photos you chose are classy and would look beautiful with your dress. Since the dress is quite fancy with the beading, wearing your hair down will keep it from being too over-the-top. Keep the curls soft and not too "crunchy" with product. If you're worried about hair getting in your face, but still don't want an updo, get some small rhinestone clips and just pin back the very front. What is nice about this style is that it's quite simple and you should be able to do it yourself without a trip to the salon. Most important though, have fun!!!

well I know if ur renting a suit you have to do that like two weeks in advance...because they have to do alot of alterations..you dont want to go at the last minute and find out they dont have a suit in ur size or the color that matches ur dates dress...
well, in my opinion, you have to dance. you will be a lot more fun to be with and the girl and her friends will enjoy the prom a lot better if they know that you are having fun. as for the hair, if you have longer hair, LEAVE IT LONG. and please please PLEASE don't put any weird products or mousse in it. it makes you look like a homeless person and its just gross. try and be yourself, but the most important thing is to have fun!

In My opinion, I think the dress would look more interesting and fabulous if you added a belt. Maybe Gold or Red? If not a belt, then at least some very flashy accessories. The dress is very basic, so the extras need to stand out.

Definately wear jeans. they always make you look thinner and are very comfy. I suggest that you wear a tanktop with a cool sweater on top. If you would rather wear a miniskirt go with one thats plaid red. This looks really good with brunnette hair. The shirt you wear all depends on your style.

-For your hair, I think you should just wear it down. And make sure you don't straighten it or anything. (you said your hair was curly). Pin one side of your hair back with a bobby pin.
Makeup:
Option 1:Go for really smokey eyes- it will make you stand out and look your best. Use black eyeliner, and swipe your eyelids with some black eyeshadow as well. don't forget to put some mascara on too.
Option 2: If you want to look sweet- curl your eyelashes with an eyelash curler, and swipe your top lashes with some mascara. Do the same with your bottom lashes. Apply a pink blush to your cheekbones. Finish it off by putting on either some bright pink or red lipgloss.
Option 3: If you want to look bold- Do your normal makeup routine, except when doing your lips, put on some bright red lipstick.

Semi-formal can be anything, really. I had a semi-formal dance last night, to which I wore a pretty, sleeveless black dress with a thin black belt, and black tights and heels! You don't have to dress down just because everyone else is! Add some more casual accesories to a dress like the ones I put below, and you'll blend in AND look gorgeous! Don't worry about the cold, unless it's outside, you can just wear a coat and take it off once you get inside. Remember you WILL be dancing, so you don't want to wear anything too thick.

I think a shimmery gold/bronze eyeshadow will look best on your dress. It's a very natural color yet it brightens your eye area and face. Use a sheer pink or sheer bronze color on your cheeks. and you can use a nude color on your lips topped with shimmery lip gloss :)

Okay, well i have something important coming up. no, it's not formal, but it's important. what should i do?

Shave legs and underarms. After you get out of the shower put lotion on your arms and legs. The best lotion you can get at any drugstore is Eucerin (my doc recommended it for me because my legs get very dry and it works great). Straighten your hair for apolished look. For your face you should exfoliate and put on some face powder and mascara with some lip gloss.

In a few days, i have a kind of formal event to go to in the day, i was going to wear my hair out and straightened, but im thinking thats a tad plain so i was wondering if anyone could think of anything else i could do with it or some styles? (id rather wear it down)

de volumize my hair? i get my hair trimmed every 8 weeks,
when my hair dries, the bottom, (towards my shoulders) gets all poofy and frizzy. i tried every hair serum on the market, so what am i doing wrong? it looks sort of like an afro at the bottom. i got a trim about 3 weeks ago. its a mid lenght tight curl. im a white female, but my hair somewhat resembles african hair, but blonde, not so kinky or frizzy, just like more defined curls. accept the bottom. its more flat at the top too.

i try putting gel in my hair, then tieing it up, but after about a half hour, it gets the same way, it spreads out, kinda like a half circle around my neck. it sticks out at about a 45 degree angle from behind my ears.
i have resorted to tying it all the way up, but i want to go back to school with a more formal grown up look, and tying it up dosnt work with shorter layers. (i have shorter layers)
Washing your hair all the time dries it out and can cause it to be frizzy. try washing it with conditioner every other day instead of each day. Also, blow drying and straighting it fry your hair, making it frizzy. Try air drying it when you can.

I have layered hair. Our company Christmas luncheon is this Friday-it is semi-formal. I would like to wear it up but dont know if I can because of the layers. Put the front half up, and let it cascade in big curls down the back. Not sure if you wear bangs normally, but that would be okay to wear bangs, with maybe a couple little strands curling on the sides.

okay, i wish i could type faster. this will be a bit involved. first of all, round face or not,big or skinny, go ahead and wear it up girl. it will look nice. you will need some bobby pins. smooth hair with brush to pony tail on top of head or at crown. make sure it's secure. any hair that falls n the back may be left for now. some may need to be bobby pinned into place. you can buy them the color of your hair, by the way. grab small sectons of hair from pony tail spray with hairspray, curl wth curling iron so that it's stiff. move to next small section and repeat. when all the hair has been curled, you get creative. seperate the curls and pin them into place around top of head. curl the har at neck that fell the same way and either let them hang or pinthem in an artistic way. have faith. you can be creative. you may want to have some strands hanging loose on sides of face or it might be more flattering to have it pulled more severely up. if the former, section those out before doing the pony tail and pin with bobby pin to hang out of the way until you're fnished wth the top. you may want to secton of a large porton of the top front as well and pin aside until you've done the pony tail then simply curl that in sections and pin into place the same way you did the hair from pony tail. Just incorporate that front hair into the pony tail curls. spray a real good coat over entire finished coiffure. hope this helps it's easier to show than tell. you can do it though.

It is not 5 but 10 dollars a day for gratuities that will be charged to your account. Per person.
This covers cabin stewart, bus boy, waiter, etc.
If you purchase drinks they add 15 percent to the bill.
You can get ice tea, water, coffee, tea, etc from the buffet area on the top of the ship 24 hours a day. Soda is extra no matter when and where you get it.
The specialty shops like Ben and Jerrys ice cream, starbucks, etc. are as pricy as they are on land and are not included. There are still some self serve soft icecream stations on Carnival. They are usually hard to find because they want people to get use to the purchaed stuff.
Photos are now running 15 to 20 for a average size photo.
Get your hair styled before you go on the cruise. Not only is it pricy, but they hustle you to purchase all kinds of extra things and you could end up spending hundreds of dollars. The spa people know how to sell.
If you take a massage which will cost a hundred an hour. They spend half the time selling you skin care products.
The cruise lines have learned to sell low and hustle high once they get you on board.
Compare an upscale line like Crystal. You pay more in the beginning, but they don't hustle you later.
Other lines like Windstar still have the liquor included. They are a really pricy, upscale line.
I would tell you to average 500 per person to have a good time in spending money on top of the above mentioned tips and so forth.
Shore excursions, drinks, massage, meal in the specialty restaurant (they charge from 15 to 30 per person depending on ship).
Book with a travel agent. The cruise lines do not allow discounting. You will not find it cheaper from a non service oriented web site. Go to an expert and have them guide you.
Don't forget a passport.
For your hair your looking at anywhere from 30-100 dollars based on the type of service you desire. Photos will cost you from 9.95 for small to anywhere form 49.99 very large photos with frames. It really depends on the type of photos, they will have a large selections of styles and types of photos while on your cruise. Your cruise will include all your food and entertainment and room, you need to be aware that beverages will cost you extra, juices are usuly included with breakfast. Sodas your looking to spend about 2.50 per can, check with the cruise line, you might have a soda card for sale that gets you unlimited soda's at the bar. Booze will cost you from 4.95 for a beer to 6 bucks for a premium pour of liquor. Be aware do not tip the bar tender, your drink cost includes the tip. Enjoy your cruise

Spa treatments range from $30-40 for manicures or pedicures, through $250-300 for longer massages and packages. Get stuff done on days when the ship is in port to save money on spa treatments. You can often get prices from the Cruise line's website.
Formal Pictures usually cost ~$10.
Shore excursions cost about $50-120 per person (half day vs. full day) and often can be done much cheaper on your own. You should be able to get prices and excursions from the cruise line's website.
They add ~$5 per person per day for tips for the crew.
Check out cruisecompete.com or vacationstogo.com for better prices. Check the ship and determine what cabin you want first. Inside cabins can be much cheaper, not much to see out the window most of the time anyway. When you purchase can make a huge difference in price. Watch the prices for a while on different cruises to get a sense for when the prices drop.
The price of the spa items will cost you more than on land. My spa treatmnent was 120.00 for 1 hour and not worth the money. Foe a manicure and pedicure it was around 100.00. way to much..... Any alcohol you want will cost extra. The photos can also be epensive $15-30+ each, but many time you will be given a discount coupon. The casino of course will cost and also, playing bingo. Don't forget that you will be charged the daily tip for your servers and room captain.
The excercise classes are additional. Don't know about hair styling beacuse I didn't do that. If you get sick and need to see the Dr. theres also a charge. Sea sick meds are free and usually available at the infirmary however if you call to have some delivered to your room we were charged for that.
Don't forget your parking needs to be paid when you arrive at the parking lot prior to boarding the ship.

curl your hair! my hair used to be long too and it looked good curled. for make up..im not sure about that one...try looking on sephora if you want to go all out..or go to like macys. they will like let you try stuff on. Also, you could try victoria's secret, they would help you out.
I think for winter formal make-up...a glowy, timeless look would be great.
You should use bronzer on the face. Possibly some false eyelashes for the eyes and some white shimmer on the brow bone, and corner of the eyes, with noticeably red lipgloss on the lips. If you have a dress that red lips would really not go with, a neutral gloss would still look great.
For the hair...loose curls would be very pretty (I don't know about you, but I have this thing about tight, spiral curls, I really don't like them). If you have bangs like the avatar, you should pin them up, or to the side.
I say go for a pearlescent white eye shadow, a light pink or mauve lip color, and a great black mascara.
Don't go too dramatic on the make up.. at formal more natural smoky eyes look best! And for your hair if it is really long, depending on your dress, get half up half down and spiraled. and if its short get your bangs pulled away and flip it out!

It depends on your body type. Try something really simple, but cute. Plain black or red are really classic colors, but looks amazing. A light sky blue would also look nice. Try the website below for some ideas.

Auditions at my high school are coming up soon for next year's musical, and they have chosen Little Shop of Horrors! I will a freshmen. I am wondering which part I should audition for. My info is:

If you can harmonize, you could have a shot at this great trio setting. While I don't know which of these parts are in your range, get the script/libretto and try your hand at the parts in the music. The "moves" are isolated to some arm and positioning as I have seen this program.
Have fun! This is a wonderful show to work... lots of backstage stuff. Your audition will reflect your best suits if you are relaxed and enjoying the audition process.

After that is done start with the sides and top. Keep pining loosely. Taking a side section, then the other side, then the top. Keep doing that until you have finished and try to hide the pins as you get closer to finishing. Leave a few loose little strings of curls down the back of your head and on the sides between the forehead and ears. It should look Grecian goddess like. To a semi formal I would wear nice pants with a pretty top or possibly a cocktail dress (short or half lenght %26amp; made from materials other than satin). Keep the make-up natural-not too dramatic. For your hair, either straighten it or have a light wave/curl with your fringe pinned back. Bringing a date would be fine.
The events at a semi formal are usually quite similar to a formal, only not as 'polished'.
If you have a date, transportation is up to him. A beach dress would not be appropriate. Upswept hair style if you have long hair. Semi-formal means you don't have to wear a floor length dress, but you should dress up in a knee or calf-length formal-type dress.

My friend is having a semi formal party, and I'm having trouble deciding what to do for my hair. I have really thin hair thats super straight that goes just below my chest, and I don't have bangs because (and this is the truth) I don't have enough hair. I'd perfer to wear it down, but everyone keeps saying to put it up. Any suggestions? Pictures would be extra nice too :D
wear it down but poof up and pin back your top section (bang area if you had them) in a mini pompadour. it's sexy, semi formal and a little rock n roll.
Try twisting it up and put some hair pins in it to hold the hair up. If you have your hair down it will look drab. But put some gel on your hair in the front so that it won't stick out and twist your hair up and make a design that fits you.
well, i don't have pics for you...but i would take toothbrush (preferably one not used lol) and tease your roots. then add some volumizer to your hair to make it puffy. this will help your hair look a bit fuller rather than thin. maybe you could try making a yorkie or bump on top of your head. you know the style everyone is doing nowadays. keep your hair straight and just add volume. besides...you can rock with a great dress or outfit. hopes this helps you a bit. good luck and have fun!

c)get a really nice hair band and do either a) or b)
d)throw your hair up in a sleeked back ponytail take a strand and wrap it around the elastic and secure with a bobbypin.

We have a winter formal around Febuary24. I know that it is a long way away but I need some help on picking out a dress. Wow sounds like me, except I'm 5'5, and just a little curvy. My winter formal dress is short, baby blue, knee length, and strapless. I usually always wear a short dress, because it works well for a curvy body type, so I think the dress you picked out would work great! Black and white always works well with tan skin, or you could go with jewel tones. You should definitely wear your hair down, or half down - half up. That way you can show off the halter straps and your hair at the same time.

what exactly are you looking for?i suggest you get a long white dress, maybe one that has a halter top that is a little bit v-y but not too low, and then you could get maybe 1 inch kind of white heeled sandals, and maybe get a nice updo for your hair, if you want to, otherwise you could just curl it or straighten it, depending what it is like now, and you could work out a color scheeme with your jewelry to add some color, maybe a pinkish, or green or brightish blue with your black hair, and you can do your nails to match you accesories.

I never dye my hair and I keep it naturally straight. I let my hair air dry and I save curling irons for only special occasions (weddings, formals, etc.) I've found that my hair stays really healthy (no split ends, super soft, smells pleasant.) And I've just always wonder why no one really leaves their hair natural anymore. Like they did back in the day. Why not be happy to have naturally curly, straight or wavy hair? I'm not trying to bash anyone- I'm just curious as to what everyone's take on this is. =)
I understand what you're talking about. I don't dye my hair and I love the color, and you said you have straight hair, but wavy, puffy hair is very hard to manage for me. I feel like I'm a boy when I let my hair dry without straightening it or pulling it up b/c it's looks like a frizzy mess. That's why I have to either sometimes straighten it, put it up (which doesn't look good w/ my face type), or go out feeling very uncomfortable with how I look like, and no women should go out in public feeling that way. most people with wavy nad curly hair have really frizzy pouffy hair too (like me) its not easy to kepp it that way so we (some of us at least) straighten our hair or put stuff in it like creme or gel or mouse to help it stay. some people dont like their hair color so they dye it. just because you have perfect hair just the way you want it doesnt mean everyone else is like that
because not every1 is gifted w/ straight hair and it was always unman age-able so styling products or tools help make you look presentable.....duhhhh

I never ever dyed my hair before, it's natrually straight, i've only curled my hair with a curling iron once in my whole life. I 閳?air drying, hair dryers just burn my scalp. It really doesn't stay split end-free, nor does it stay super soft, or smell that great though. I think it might be because I have oily hair. :-)

natural hair would be a godsend to most women if they had strait hair. as everyone has mentioned wavy or curly hair gets very frizzy and just isnt very cute. tho curls can be very beautiful with just a little curling syrum which thanks to wide findability more women are doing. i think its just a culteral thing..the last two generations have been more drawn to a fake perfect stereotype. its a society thing. we'll get over it
