I have short to medium length hair and am looking for a fun and punky look for my formal on Saturday. I was hoping for an easy updo'ish look, but I wonder if my hair is too short for the cool Gwen Stefani ponytail look. Can anyone help me?

its not too short, as long as you can pull most of it back in a ponytail. Heres step by step instructions:
Take your thumbs and run them back into your hair, at the level of your eyebrows. Gather the hair all the way to the back of your head, like you are making a half ponytail. Pin that hair into a bun on the top of your head temporarily.
Sleek the rest of your hair back into a medium height ponytail.
Unpin the hair on the top of your head and comb it back. Gather it up and twist it once or twice, this should make the front "puff" up. Use some bobby pins to secure it at the twist. Insert them, then invert them to make them secure. aka, insert them to the left, then turn to the right.
Lastly, get a second ponytail holder and pull the ends of the pinned hair onto the other ponytail and secure.
Sounds complicated, but its really simple once you try it a few times. I can do it in about 2 minutes now that I have it down. Use a light hold hairspray (one that wont get crispy!) and a silicone shine spray (in an aerosol can, lighter application)
