Any advice for prom hair?

My prom is April 26th, and I got my dress this past weekend. My hair is to the top of my boobs for lack of a better description, straight, and light brown/dirty blonde. My hair is thin and flat. I was planning on getting my hair professionally curled and put up in an updo. However, when I tried my dress on again I put my hair up to see what it looked like, and it actually looked better down with the dress for some reason. I'm just afraid that will be too boring and un-formal for prom. Especially since that閳ユ獨 how I always wear my hair閳ヮ洐traight and boring. I'm wondering if I should even make a hair appointment if I'm not really doing anything to it, but I was thinking maybe the hairdresser could make it have more volume or something. Anyone have suggestions? Oh and curling it and leaving it down is not an option because it won't stay.

How about pulling up a small amount on top with a pretty clip? That way it's not boring, but not hard to keep in it's style.

put ur hair in a low side pony and curl it that is sooooooo cute and it will go so cute with that dress but ur hair has to be kinda long get it done at a salon and they will know exactly wat i mean!

Wow. That's a great dress. Try typing "Updo images" into the Yahoo search and a lot will come up and something should stand out for you.
