ok i have a semi formal dance coming up on friday (a little less formal than prom) and i am wearing a black dress. do u have any ideas on how i could make the dress less formal and more fun? i am also going to do my own hair and make up. any make up ideas? and i am goin to straighten my hair. any ideas to make it more interesting? thanks in advance! =]

First avoid the classic formal "prom" jewelry like pearls, "diamonds". Go for bright fun, funky jewelry. Secondly avoid the strappy heels. Wear a bold wild pattern, or a solid bold color.

For make up keep it light and natural. Neutral eyes, light peachy cheeks, and a pink cherry pink lip.

I like the idea of straightening your hair sounds cute. After you straighten it, you could take a blow dryer and curl the hair away from the face, in an updated feather, ala Farrah Fawcett meets 2007. Just an idea or you can just straighten it and leave it down.

well if you have light skin then i suggest you put on red blush and red lipstick, and like a little hair pin. if you have a silver necklace wear it it might just match your dress, and a white or silver bracelet. it might just match.

Use shimmery/ frost eyeshadows in colors that look good on you and a sparkly lipgloss.

when my daughter went to homecoming, we bought a cute red shimmery cocktail dress and she wore net stockings and black boots with it to dress it down a little. at another dance she wore a black cocktail dress with holey jeans under it and tenny boppers.

as far as hair goes, one of my daughters had blonde hair for awhile and she would use crayola markers and color rainbows in her hair. or on game day she would put stripes of color in her hair that represented her fav team.

with brown hair there are numerous fun clips and hair stuff, usually at walgreens is where i find the most, however i have seen them at many stores.

make up, i couldnt even tell you, i dont wear it.
